scarabs disappearing from the map device

I've noticed this twice that after every gaming session if i leave the scarabs in the map device they will disappear when i re-login the next day/ after a few hours. Is this intended behavior? Latest example is i had 20 each cloister scarabs in 5 slots, closed the game, re-opened it after about 19-20 hours and had 31 in map device.

If you're bouncing between multiple characters, keep in mind that each character's map device contents (aside from the shared storage on the left) are character specific storage.

Try opening the map device and selecting a map with each character, and take stock of what each character has in the scarab slots.
