ㄴRing +3 Frenzyㄱ

Both Aspect of the Cat and Aspect of the Spider rings are currently being sold for around 20 Mirrors with 3 positive modifiers, including +3 Frenzy. From that, we can estimate an average of how many Hinekora’s Locks each player has spent. Typically, players acquire a base for 5 to at most 10 Mirrors, and the rest is spent on Hinekora’s Locks, resulting in an average of about 10 to 12 Mirrors worth of Locks to achieve 3 positive modifiers.

I would like to understand why, in my case, it took 42 Mirrors to reach 3 positive modifiers. Spending 42 Mirrors should be enough to get 4 positive modifiers, not just 3. Since it only resulted in 3 with such a high investment, I decided not to proceed further at that point. Then I spent an additional 10 Mirrors trying to reach 4 positive modifiers, but it didn’t happen, so I stopped and didn’t use any more Hinekora’s Locks.

Total investment:
10 Mirrors (base) + 42 + 10 = 62 Mirrors.

I would like to know why my ring did not follow the average. Instead of costing around 12 Mirrors (or close to that) to get 3 positive modifiers, it ended up costing an absurd 42 Mirrors. Why did it turn out that way? We are talking about 30 Mirrors above the average of players currently selling similar rings.

I would like to understand what happened.

RNG happened. Doesn't get any simpler than that.
Nothing is average with RNG at play until you get a large enough sample size, sometimes you get really lucky, sometimes you could spend double that, same deal with rolling a 6 linked naturally, it could be one or it could be ten thousand, there is just a large enough sample size that we know it is about 1200 fusing on average (hence the crafting bench fee being 1500).

I’m not talking about just 10% above or below average, or even 50% above average — I’m talking about three times more.

On average, people get 3 positive modifiers with about 12 mirrors. It can happen with 8 or 10 mirrors, or at most around 13 or 15 — that’s the average. You can see that from the price they sell already-transformed rings with 3 positive modifiers.

But that didn’t happen in my case. Mine went past 15, past 22, and I only got 3 positive modifiers after an absurd 42 mirrors. Instead of 8, 10, 12, or 15, it was 42 — absurd 42.

So I want to know: what happened?
Why did my ring take 42 mirrors instead of being transformed with 8, 10, 12, or 15? What happened ?
What answer are you expecting? That it's a bug and you should get your 30 mirrors back? No. Either you did something wrong or you were incredibly unlucky.
The crafting of the ring using Hinekora’s Locks took place between December 13, 2025 and January 12, 2026. Most of the Hinekora’s Locks used were consumed between December 13 and December 20, 2025, with a small remaining portion used gradually until January 12, 2026
