Deactivating chatbox

I'm playing with the mouse controls to move.

This problem is mostly present when I'm playing LA deadeye or ranged characters.

While kiting backwards, I often end up clicking on the chatbox and then my character freezes for 0.5 seconds. Happens every 10 seconds or so and sometimes leads to death or stressful encounters for no reason.

Can we get an option to 'deactivate chatbox cursor click' or whatever so that only 'Enter' key opens it? It could be a simple option like Deactivating Quest tracking but for the chatbox.

This issue has been reported many times before but not addressed sadly.
