Offline Creative/Sandbox Mode - The real key to breaking the Meta

Hello GGG Team and community,

I want to propose a feature that would forever change how we interact with Path of Exile: An Offline Creative (Sandbox) Mode.

We play a game with unparalleled depth. There are thousands of skills, items, and passive tree combinations. Yet, every league, the vast majority of the player base ends up playing the exact same 3 or 4 "Meta" builds pushed by streamers.

Why does this happen?
Because the penalty for experimenting is simply too high. It is incredibly frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive to test an out-of-the-box idea in a live league. If your custom build fails, you lose days of grinding. Because of this fear, we rely entirely on 3rd-party tools (like PoB) and external craft simulators to play the game for us.

The Proposal:
A completely isolated, offline (or voided) environment disconnected from the league economy, featuring:

Instant Level 100 characters.

A crafting bench with infinite, zero-cost currency.

Access to all skill gems and unique items.

Addressing Developer Concerns:
I know the immediate dev concern is that "giving players everything for free ruins retention." But the psychological reality is the exact opposite. If I can hop into a Sandbox Mode, toy around with a crazy build idea, test how to craft the perfect rare item without burning real currency, and realize the build actually works, I will log back into the live league with triple the motivation to grind for those items for real.

Right now, PoE's immense creativity is locked behind spreadsheets and third-party software. Please, let us play, fail, test crafts, and explore the true depth of your game, inside the actual game engine!

Cheers.

They'll never do this. Not only for the psychology thing you mentioned and provided only one anecdotal counterpoint to. Also because offline client is an extreme time sink that would only expose their server code making it easier for nefarious parties to craft hacks. Also because they still have many secrets in the game to this day, and they want it that way. An offline client would immediately reveal all of those.

Also I don't really believe most people would do this much experimenting even if it was free. Your can very cheaply test mechanics, I've watched Jungroan doing it constantly. He doesn't start (most) ideas with mirrors of gear. He grabs random gems and items and experiments with interactions. People are just fundamentally lazy or just prioritize playing the game over theory crafting, even with all the tools in front of them and free they would still use guides to reach the biggest DPS numbers of the league.
GGG killed original / Ritual league Harvest and Necropolis didn't even make it into the core game. What makes you think they'd give us a sandbox mode, let alone offline? Of all things never happening to this game, these two won't happen the most. Absolutely never.

Objectively not true. PoB is free and everyone can toss around numbers and concepts without having to boot up the game.
