Shrines are too powerful to have them all time.

I believe items like The Golden Charlatan and Screams of the Desiccated shouldn't exist in their current form.
Shrine effects are inherently a fairly powerful bonus that's enjoyable to use, even if only briefly. It's a kind of dopamine rush that you need to find and then take a short break from, so that the next time it's just as enjoyable. But apparently someone didn't consider that it would be obvious to use unique items that increase Shrine effect by a total of +150%. Has anyone tried calculating the effect this provides? Resistance Shrine: +25% max ele res and +125% ele res Acceleration Shrine: +125% action speed Echoing Shrine: 250% more attack and cast speed (does skill repeat also scale? Then 2 repeats instead of 1) Absurd. And while the belt requires certain conditions and is catastrophically rare, the sword has no downsides, since the increased buff duration and buff strength allow you to always have it. And once again, this leak of extreme power encourages the same "golden baby" builds that have remained the strongest and most promising for all these years. Archetypes that were outdated and had stopped showing signs of life haven't been revived by these items. Maybe there are a few exceptions where, with a 5+ mirror budget, a build finally sees the power that was available to the meta in the midgame. Cool. But it shouldn't be like this. After all, there will be another global nerf to weaken players' strength, and ONLY the already weak builds will suffer. The patch adds support gems tied to tactics and intelligence, and alongside them, an Uber Belt that surpasses everything in the game. This needs to be changed. my hideouts - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3228515 Last edited by moonretealoud#1487 on Mar 30, 2026, 5:45:48 AM Last bumped on Mar 30, 2026, 12:18:05 PM

I'm already seeing a lot of "minmax" builds shifting away from using mageblood to the new screams belt.
Considering how ghoulishly expensive these belts can be, that's pretty damn worrying. I hope, regardless if Mirage goes core or not (I'm hoping it does), the belt doesn't follow. That thing is way too powerful to be allowed to stay, and I worry that keeping it risks GGG nerfing everything to account for that power spike. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! The others found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on juice. I am not so foolish. |
