Recombinator Bug?

There is a bug with old Recombinating.

I had two prefixes in the pool, then used the old recombinator, it supposed to guarantee atleast one prefix, but i came out with 0 prefixes, only suffixes.

I just got this bug too, bug report 3555292337.

I combined two Twilight Regalia, one with 2 prefixes, one with 2 suffixes, and the result had a single prefix only. This is the first time this has ever happened, that I went from 4 mods total down to just 1. I thought 2 mods was the minimum, with rough odds of: 2 mods = 44.4%, 3 mods = 44.4%, 4 mods = 11.1%. And this was with high rolls pieces on lvl 86+ armors that I'd just dumped many divines into, so this was a big loss.

Edit: False alarm, not a bug, read my last post, just made a dumb error and didn't do what I thought I did. Was actually a 3 prefix, 1 suffix recombination.

where did you get the stat of success from?

On POEwiki.net it has estimated odds based on number of mods in the pools. For 2 Mods in the pools it's 2/3 for 1 mod result, 1/3 for 2 mods. I used those to calculate the possibilities when combining two 2 mod items (2 pref/2 suff) to get the odds for 2, 3, or 4 mods. For prefix and suffix, with 2 mods in each pool, it's not supposed to be possible to go down to zero mods, but I had it happen to my suffix side, while the prefix side went from 2 down to 1 (which is the more likely possibility), leaving me with just 1 mod from 4 total different affixes to begin with. Both items were Twilight Regalia, no special mods, so there is no issue of any of the mods not being compatible with one of the two chosen armors that could potentially result in less than 2 affixes in the result.

This bugged result would be like the result of combining two 1 mod items together and getting a rare piece of armor with zero mods, which has never happened for me.

What mods were there?
wiki probably has outdated or inaccurate info. Especially recombination has reworked a few times

And remember to always check mod group, is that "exclusive" mod (e.g. drop only), etc

Ah, failed again, another bogus bug report. I was so tired I didn't realize it wasn't what I thought it was. Not a bug.

I went to verify what I actually combined and share the picture and realized it was actually 3 prefixes, 1 suffix. Which means the 3 prefixes rolled 1 mod (~50% chance) and the 1 suffix rolled zero mods (~41%).

Sorry for my error. I just messed up and combined two items I shouldn't have because combining that way is bad odds and I was too tired to notice. I normally never combine items that way and wouldn't have done so this time had I realized.

I wish there was a way to cancel bug reports, because I seem to report more false bugs than real ones and don't know how to retract them after I realize my error. I wouldn't be surprised if my account was tagged as being bad with bug reports at this point, because I always realize too late. At least that means there is no bug with how they work and I just borked myself.
