Idea for a potential Delve rework

I have been playing a lot of delve and it feels just a bit antiquated to me by now.
The interplay between maps and grabbing the Sulphite and delving is not a nice harmony and overall i felt it could use a rework much like breach got so here is my concept.



- Delve is an infinite cave system

-Maps can drop Delve hints which can show you potential points of interest on the delve map

These hints have different levels of quality
Lowest quality marks a fairly wide area giving you only an encounter type like “cold items”
Higher tiers offer more precise locations and loot such as “a unique chaos item” or at the highest level delve specific uniques/bosses
Ex: “In this deep cave Aul lurks holding Auls Uprising”
Ex: “In a hollow of pure ice a powerful Devourer holds a Divine Orb”


-The cart follows the player leaving torches behind and collecting loot


-No items drop accumulating escalating loot like timeless encounters

-Collecting a certain amount of “currency” loot for example increases the currency load of the cart (potentially even rendered) and rerolls the currency drops an additional time keeping the best outcome

-If you die you lose everything (maybe you can reclaim some if you find your lost cart by retracing your steps?)

- To claim the loot players need to find a cave/poi and establish a base camp

-Niko as well as chests are brought to the base camp

-You may also be able to modify/upgrade the cart allowing it to give you buffs, produce more light, debuff enemies or attract certain drops.

-The parts to upgrade are found within the mine and are effectively gear for the cart.
