Personal take on the goods and bads of the league thus far.

The good:

1. Doubling map mechanics, raising value of scarabs, especially helpful in SSF situation.

2. Rancour crafting open up more opportunity for new players and intermediate level crafters to learn the system with more immediate result.

3. Probably the best belt base for any chase mirror tier crafted belt in the future.

4. Currency drop increased allow player to use it more frequently with less consideration about "what can I get on the market with this". Encourage player to craft more.

5. League boss is low on difficulty, allow players with less specialized builds to engage with chase item farming. Personally one of my friend was motivated to play more after he killed the boss and got a decent belt out of it, so that's a good thing in my book.

6. New atlas system is fantastic, it remove the tedious step of managing the favorites on different trees as well as making every map drop useful. When map mod is the only concern, the usable map pool from self-found is expanded multiple time. On this point, I personally think map drop too much as of right now. I over sustain with no scarab, no extra map drop on tree. And with any of them my map stash just fill up like no tomorrow. With Mirage and map scarabs (no tree allocation) I got 5-8 8 mods maps back every map I run.

7. The exceptional gems become target farmable is beyond great for SSF.

8. New chase ceiling in form of skill gem corruption, more thing to do and expand the market, giving lab run more purpose.


The design bad:

1. Coin of restoration drop more than the unique it can be used on by power of magnitudes, make one question what is the purpose of the coin then anyway? Might as well let player slam an Alteration on the unique to change its form, saving them the inventory space. According to challenge, I have used 3 coins (found prob 6 uniques), and I have 40 coins left in stash.

2. Corruption coin drop rate is too low for the Djinn wish aspect (that affect what coin it can drop) a complete waste as most of the time it will not drop anyway. (For me personally, it is rarer than Divine according to the Exile Pilfering Ring tracking, and even Fracturing Orb according to my own memory since it's rare enough). By the way please add Fracturing Orb tracking as it is common currency now.

3. Rancour does not spawn with Crop Rotation (perhaps intentional?) This make harvest split into two completely opposite strategies whether or not the farmer want rancour, as oppose to other mechanics as Mirage always add something on top of existing strategy.

4. Blood for Genesis Tree drop way less than Wombgift, pair with allowing player to target farm the gift they want create a minor but steadily increasing storage crisis.

5. Map now take longer, pair with increasing ground loot make looting feel tedious as player have to spend multiple portals to transfer items. This also create unintentional challenge in map as player have to die less if they want all the loot, especially in hyper juiced maps. (kind of similar to PoE2?)


The technicality bad:

1. Kinetic Fusillade have different DPS based on connection mode (Prediction / Lockstep). Probably every skills with high interaction speed do.

2. The server situation is really bad. Random 30s ping, disconnection, instance crash and rollback. Personally experienced on Singapore (not that new here anyway) and Japan. People also complain about it on EU servers and I have seen one instance of bad from US server (not sure which one).


Possible oversight:

1. I found some fossil from Heist, this is not align with previous statement that making fossil exclusive to the mine.


Overall I love how the game is moving toward SSF friendly. With Ancient Wombgift, exceptional gem target farm, deterministic transfiguration font option and Rancour, PoE is more SSF friendly than I ever remember.
