Transfig gem idea: Volcanic Fissure of Ego

While in blood stance, hurl [X] magma projectiles forward. Weapon strike range scales the travel distance of the projectiles.
While in sand stance, stomp the ground creating [Y] balls of magma that drop around you. These projectiles can chain and bounce outwards for each time they can chain. Changing stance while there are projectiles traveling will cause them to return back to you, piercing all enemies but dealing [Z] less damage, and latching onto your character while also releasing all projectiles previously latched onto you towards a marked character (or at random if there's none). -------------- The reason for this idea is that, while Volcanic Fissure is one of the most badass and fun skills (for me) in the game, it's also the clunkiest I've ever tried. Any enemy that moves or dashes towards you can avoid all projectiles. The main explosion can deal OK-ish damage but the fun part is scaling the projectiles. But since the explosion tends to land slightly behind the enemy (at least on controller), any enemy moving towards you will leave the projectiles behind. VFoS solves this by removing the projectiles altogether. This idea would add interaction with said projectiles instead. Cheers. Last bumped on Mar 11, 2026, 11:17:33 AM
