The jump in latency appears to show up when your traffic passes through routers which - somewhat unhelpfully - have been specifically configured not to participate in such tests.

Therefore, not much more can be gleaned from the test other than the issue being on-route rather than being server-side. The first IP address confirmed to be affected belongs to a Telecom Italia Sparkle S.p.A. router which is most likely stationed in-or-around Buenos Aires.

It's possible a VPN would help. ProtonVPN's free tier should be sufficient for testing. I don't know enough about Argentina's backbone infrastructure to comment on how likely this is to work.

FWIW, this isn't really the primary use case of a VPN - if one helps, it would be more through luck than judgement. Therefore you might find that it doesn't initially help, but changing the VPN server you connect to causes it to start helping. At least it might help until the problem gets resolved.

Is there any way I could help get this fixed? Only got a couple days off work and I wanted to no-life PoE these days. Waiting for it to get fixed on itself is kind of a bummer. I tried Proton VPN but it didn't help much, mostly because it connected me to random servers and i couldn't choose one by myself.
Am i just Doomed to wait until this gets resolved?
If i recall correctly, I haven't played last phrecia event also because of this issue, but it didn't really matter to me because I wasn't as interested in playing Phrecia, so the issue may be from a long time ago. But i DO want to play this league, and in its current latency state is mostly unplayable. It would be amazing if there was something I could do to fix it

Unfortunately not - we don't know for certain which company's infrastructure is responsible.

Your ISP's support might be able to shed some light on this; they would have greater insight into the nodes which did not participate in the WinMTR test you had performed.

Im really not that tech savvy, what should I say to my ISP for they to help me with this issue? Its the only game in which this happens to me, and its really annoying
The best thing to do would be to show them the WinMTR log in its entirety, and tell them that you have experienced high latency and are seeking their assistance in resolving the issue.

Tier 1 support may or may not be able to parse the WinMTR log; it varies from one company to the next.

Well, I did, and this is the response I got-

I've verified that your network configuration is enabled to connect to any server. It's possible that the issue you're experiencing is related to the routing of your assigned IP address; however, we are unable to modify it. 😊

Please remember that the IP addresses assigned to the service are public and dynamic, so they may change over time. 😊 (Translated, obviously)

So a nothingburger response, and the support representative ended the chat there. I guess there is really NOTHING i can do. Wait and hope, fruitless because its something that comes from a long time and im pretty sure it won't get fixed. Any more ideas? I would really appreciate it, don't know what else to do.
Would there be any alternative Path of Exile gateways you could connect to which would ordinarily be worse for you to use, but wouldn't be as bad as the current connection to your regular gateway?

Because the problem appears to be somewhere on the route between you and the servers, essentially any form of troubleshooting would be some variation of "change the route". Whether that's using a VPN to adjust the routing but not the destination, or changing the destination itself.

Not really... Closest one is texas with a little bit more ping than Brasil ones, and it feels just the same. Is there any way to test proton without it choosing my server randomly? It just takes me to north america always, and with more ping than my normal connection. I honestly don't know what else to do. Its really disheartening
To be honest, I typically use Proton VPN as a paying subscriber.

I think you should be able to choose from a small number of countries on the free plan?
