So, you are able to delete my maps but you support RMT with Spirit Wrap?

This is crazy, you have deleted or modified my map-items but you leave 1 item in the game that actually breaks it and supports RMT?

Can anyone @ GGG explain to me why this item is not greyed out, or rendered a museum piece for the hide out? You can not come up with the story: "we don't delete anything, not even bugged items" because today you have shown you could and did.

You were able to grey out and delete my Valdo maps, and i don't get anything in return, but you leave this Spirit Wrap bug in the game?

Please get your act together.

There is a difference in programming here:
Certain legacy items exist and continue to exist because they are standalone items: not models or programming for OTHER content. This is pretty normal.

Certain changes, such as the maps and other things throughout the game (certain modifiers, sextants, watchstones, old scarabs, bestiary nets, perandus coins, etc) are changed in order to support NEW functions that use the same or similar programming. They cannot have certain things conflict with actionable code on a certain level. GGG programmers would much rather modify existing coding than have to build things from scratch which both takes a lot more time and costs a lot more money.

Maybe you weren't around for it, but one such example could be the Reservation Efficiency grand change. The entire mechanic that existed before this change was fully and completely removed from the game. It simply could no longer exist because the programming for it was gone.

It all has to do with how whatever they are changing is coded into the game: sometimes that means creating something brand new (and the old version being allowed to stay)....or that means changing the entire system and invalidating the items associated with the old system. For example: I have an entire stash tab of watchstones in standard. I have perandus coins. Can I trade them? no. Can I use them? No. I even have older maps that cannot be used in the machine, nor can they even be fused into different maps. Because their entire layout has been deleted from the game system (or changed).

As for the RMT nonsense: EVERY SINGLE ITEM IN THE GAME "supports rmt" lol. What a weird comment to make. People will always be willing to pay real money to get something they want, and there isn't a game security mechanism in existence that can shut this down. Even D3's no-trade and post-AH didn't stop RMT behavior, it just evolved.

Here's a bit of an analogy:

Let's take your average printer:
Scenario 1) you print a picture on a piece of paper, frame it, keep it in your house. No matter what you do to the printer after that, you already have your picture.

Scenario 2) The printer has been modified and now only accepts different sized paper. You want to print a normal-sized paper, or you want to copy the picture you printed out in Scenario 1 (without scaling). Sorry....can't do it. The machine physically can no longer accomplish what you want it to do.

These are the two types of changes that GGG tends to make. One change scenario only affects future drops and future items, whereas the other affects the entire underlying system that enables both past and future item usage.

Folks smarter than me can illustrate WHY this particular change required scenario 2 over scenario 1, as I'm sure there is a multitude of reasons. As you have shown, GGG has avoided outright deletion as much as possible......but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened.
