Pricing in two currencies (for example: 3d80c)
|
The suggestion is to support pricing an item in two currencies, for example 3 divines + 80 chaos orbs: both in async trading, and also in old fashioned trading. (Bonus suggestion: on AH too)
Right now on Standard, temples of Atzoatl with Locus of Corruption go for 4 div each. There are many many listings at 4 div, and none at a lower price. My choice is to either list mine and maybe sell very slowly (or never?), or to lose a divine. Note also that when buying, I'll have to pay the 4 div, so this situation creates a rather large cost of trading. Pricing in two currencies would solve this problem. On Standard, 1 divine is 430-490 chaos orbs, so if I list my temple for something like 1650 chaos orbs then the orbs would cost so much gold in the auction house that it will not be worth it. Also I just tried listing it for 1650, and due to a bug / quirk, it shows between 7 div and 8 div listings - there are 2658 listings, and mine is listed after 2648 of them. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Bonus suggestions: - Someone suggested having currency shards for divine orbs, and either adding the ability to break one into shards, or making them common enough. That could make this system a lot neater: then you won't need to support two currencies, just one currency + its shards. (This also mitigates the problem that the game often converts between currencies incorrectly when sorting listings by value, so the first listed item might be more expensive than the second if they are in different currencies.) (Breaking an orb into shards: if this is supported, I suggest that the market does it automatically for you - you only have 2 div, you buy something for 1.55 div, you get back 0.45 div in shards, thanks to Faustus.) - Auction house has a similar problem: sometimes an item costs 2.4 divine orbs, which means that I can only sell it for 2 div, and only buy it for 3 div, and often times the chaos orb market is lacking in liquidity. The previous "bonus suggestion" makes this worth implementing for auction house; otherwise it is more dubious because people can easily price their item in a very obscure currency combination (it will be auto-suggested as an option on pick, but still).
