Gladiator's Weapon Master Update

A suggestion for a minor update to the Duelists Gladiator Ascendancy. Add the following line to the Weapon Master majour node: Your Critical Strike Chance is Unlucky and Damage with Hits is Lucky while you are wielding a Bow I took the wording from Calculated Risk from the Sabotour ascendancy here and reversed it, adding a condition of wielding a Bow and adding and to specify they are both dependent on the bow. Reasoning: Currently the Uber Lab for a Bleed Bow Gladiator is 10% attack speed (taking 2 minor nodes) as nothing else gives anything worthwhile. I wanted to give the Uber Lab upgrade a bit more oomph, than a T3 Glove suffix, which arguable only gives QoL. The very late-game usually goes charge stacker, or a crit variant swapping ascendancy to either Slayer for charges, or Scion/Assasin for Crit. However, the Uber Lab can be (SSF) encountered as early as Tier 6 maps, which is quite a bit before one considers taking on the Breachlords (currently the most accessible of the Bloodline options) and a considerable bit before transitioning to a late-game build. The early game version, usually has Resolute Technique, as you are a bit suffix starved. Your single target in Snipe+Puncture is usually good enough to take down map bosses, but for longer fights such as Exarch/Eater, looking to increase raw output, the variance from things such as Volatility Support and/or Ryslatha's Coil start going in your favour. Keeping either one or both of these going back into mapping may be a mistake. It can already be hard to know if the snipe bleed has hit a target, considering block, enemies moving in front, or you missing the shot. Add on to this a chance that you get a low roll, that just means you do less bleed damage than the Split Arrow hit, and readability of the skill goes further down the drain. This update enables you to do less micromanaging in-between mapping and bosses, while also giving some extra options for upgrades moving towards Yellow/Red Maps, and doing your own Voidstones. Final Thoughts: While the minor node of One Handed damage might not fit the a majour one effecting a 2 handed weapon, you could use the War of Attrition minor in Attack Damage instead, although I feel it is fine either way. As the node Weapon Master already does nothing for Bows, I don't think it will effect people that are experimenting with Crit variants, while at the same time giving the archetype a 4th option for a majour node. The name Weapons Master should assume you master all weapons no? adding another should be fine, although I will agree it is getting a bit crowded with text. Last bumped on Feb 16, 2026, 7:36:22 AM

i dont get why gladiator has to be about 1h+shield or dualwielding specialy since we dont have an exclusive 2h ascendancy.
not only it needs something for bows but for staves too, Determined Survivor realy needs to give something for staves like one of this: * +max block chance with staves * % of uncapped block chance addded as global defence bonus while using staves * % of uncapped block chance addded as % increased life while using staves * % of overcapped block chance is added as spell block chance while using staves * max spell block chance is equal to max block chance while using staves Last edited by Iamterribleatnames#6579 on Feb 16, 2026, 7:41:57 AM
