poe needs much better ground loot

right now poe2 has better loot which is weird. and i'm not even talking about the temple which craps out divines like candy. just regular waystones with abyss has more loot than loot in poe. i hear more tinks in poe2 than in poe

i'm sure this was done strategically so people will go from poe to poe2 but if you will keep poe alive then it needs better loot.

mercenaries was on of the best leagues loot wise then followed by keepers which is one of the worst leagues loot wise. you cant do this to people. for loot enjoyers the game feels really bad now

the main problem about keepers is a lack of juicing strategies.

when GGG deleted sextants and quantity gear in necropolis, lanturn balanced this nerf and juiced maps beyond the level of old MF with sextants. also, enraged strongboxes were kinda "deleted", but still avaliable through lanturn's 500-600% quant buff + all the allflames of the same type + strongbox scarabs, got my early mirror drop in necro thanks to this strat

in mercenaries we got risks and merc which gave party bonus, and mercs was the juiciest league of all poe history with a large number of avaliable strats with blight/alva/breaches/kulemak/abyss scalable into endgame juicing

but in this utter garbage 3.27 league they nerfed all the 3.26 strats and NOW 1/3 OF YOUR MAP IS EATEN BY BREACH DEFENSE ENCOUNTER which takes too long to complete and drop 0 loot.
the only viable strat in 3.27 is post-buff blue blight which is still bad bc 50% of pumps give you a small number of waves -> drop 0 loot, and juice price is omega high as you need 3 t0 scarabs + time per map is absurdly high.

WE NEED BUFFS AND COMPLEX, REWARDING CONTENT GGG!
Loot is relative.

Play Ruthless, and even a support gem will be a 'tink'.

(Not that some mechanics can't cause issues to ground loot :
more Gambling this update because of more gold,
and all other loot than wombs and blood somewhat less worthwhile in Keepers because of the Genesis Tree.)

unhealthy mindset for ARPG
when you nerf everything down to the ground (like GGG did in 3.27 basically deleting every endgame juicing strat) players leave. we are not interested in pvping with white mobs on t3 map for skill gems and rare gear (ruthless with 2 active online players avg / poo2's vision) sorry

But there's clearly a split between those preferring dungeon runners like Diablo 2 and dungeon zoomers like Diablo 3.

And from what I've heard Bench PoE1 used to be more like Diablo 2 too. (Also why Chris Wilson left ?)

Where you might have a point is that dungeon zoomers do seem to be more popular than dungeon runners...

you can play BV elementalist/occ/scion/assassin/inq/chieftain/ maybe poison not sure how good it is

you can play KBoc hiero / necromancer (2 completely different setups yet same main skill)

you can play cws chief/pf/assassin/glad completely different setups

you can play multiple valdo builds like glad, trickster, jugg, various high ES builds and armourstackers

you can play KB raider or deadeye or scion

you can play PB with various classes and every setup gonna be different

building in poe is extremely complicated and rewards you for how good you progress with your character. ofc there are people who copy some streamer 1 to 1 but still there's a ton of players who make their own setup. when I go to ninja to check some skill I always see dozens of various setups by different people...

but SURE BRO THE ONLY CHOICE WE HAVE IS BANDITS xdddd "poe is simply a cookie clicker for nobrainers"

if you wanna complain about rotations/skill panel... in poe1 I always have fully bound skill panel and use multiple skills even when I play CWS (build which requires no keybinds) I still have GC, 2 move abilities... and in poo2 I have lightning spear brother, a single keybind in a game which jonathan made for 8 years and called it HARDCORE SOULS LIKE ARPG FOR HARDCORE GAMERS xddddddddddddddddddddd

also building is dull in poe2, you have sorc/bloodmage for COC (and bloodmage is better for mana-based COC than sorc spec meant to be mana stacker xddddddd) and deadeye/amazon for spear (with deadeye being objectively better in any aspect). TRUE RPG! UNLIKE COOKIE CLICKER 1!

You don't get it.

I'm not talking about build variety.

I'm talking about role playing : caring about the characters, imagining them as real people, (as well as your own character), thinking about choices that your own character would make when interacting with them.

Would your Witch be more likely to side with Alira because she's a Witch too ? Or maybe you imagine that they had a rivalry with bad blood before being exiled, and so, on the contrary, there would be no way your Witch would help Alira ?
Poe1 is lucky to have so many different mechanics in the endgame, otherwise torchlight would be superior in just gameplay alone atm.

Well the game just a bit older than 3 years now, so lets see how things will evolve :P

PS: Yes this means bring the frickin ground loot back.

We need significant changes made to magics and rares dropped from monsters.
Cos the quantity of these items is already much too high. We filter out almost everything.

When was the last time you picked up a valuable non-unique EQUIPMENT off the ground? And what was it?

Cos I know what it was. Either a good base with fractured and you identified a sellable fracture (such as 14% spell suppression on boots) or you got a good base with high quality. 28% twilight regallia or something.

Over quality gear proves that good ground loot IS possible. You can't obtain this gear anywhere else. 30% quality gear was worthless if you could just use perfect fossils. Now you can't - and this gave high quality this intrinsic value.

Sometimes GGG made changes that made no sense to me. Such as removing Oil Extractor. I mean, why? It gave decent GROUND LOOT to blights that isn't just currency or scarab. Idk, it's destroying equipment for currency so maybe not the best example. Maybe blight should drop more double-anointed amulets. This does exist now (as ground loot) but it's far too rare to be any good.
