Runegraft of Gemcraft Bug

SO i am playing zombies in the Phrecia League and i got the runegraft to get my awakened minion damage to level 5 so i can get the +1 to level of supportedf minion gems, but it is not working.

My raise zombie remains level 29 with or without the level 5 awakened minion gem.
