Brand New PC and Monitor Cannot Run PoE2

Hey...

so I bought a brand-new PC after a really good league (keepers) cuz i was excited to finally be having fun in poe again and my older lap top actually managed running the game quite well Poe 1...

Well i got the new PC set up for the launch of Fate of the Vaal in poe 2 and uh... yeah it kind of runs but it has some major issues and its making me consider saying goodbye to GGG and any of its titles for good (this will be strike 3).

sorry for the wall of text but i am absolutely not a computer wizard (obviously)

tldr intel ultra 7 overclocked 2400hz
trx 5060 the bad one with only 8gigs
and 32 gigs ddr

i have spent 3 weeks tinkering with this and that and all the little details praying to stumble on the perfect settings to fix my issue and at this point i think i brute forced every possible combination... some almost work... most dont work at all.

then i spent 3 hours in a chat with Nvidia tech support tinkering with the settings they wanted to play with and the conclusion was that Mr Rao for nvidia stated that there were hundreds if not thousands of nearly exactly my ticket with poe2 specifically on my GPU and that he would not be able to resolve my issue and he directed me to reach out to GGG tech support... which ... mostly doesnt exist

I am playing cast on crit comet... like everyone is it seems. I use ice nova with lots of crit chance and chance to freeze with rakiata's flow... it bypasses enemy res > crits > Freezes everything > and overflows my cast on crit energy extremely well and showers down hundreds of comets with a single button press.

it works so well in fact that when i cast my combo (lightning orb 2x > thunderstorm > Snap > Ice nova > Rewind time... the fps will drop from the ambient 140fps that i get when there is no action to... this is no exaggeration... 4 fps. for the most part the game cannot recover if i cast enough comets leaving the game permanently at 4-10 fps until i alt f4 and relog... cast another combo... relog... cast another combo... relog...

im being serious here.

at this point idk what to do.

im probably just going to return the computer and monitor and i very well just might quit gaming as a whole if i cannot resolve this issue... this has stolen a month of my free time and im so very fed up.

here are some videos and ill add the exact settings at the end but understand that i have tried unironically every possible combination of vsync gsync on... or off... frames capped just below the refresh rate... or not.

cleared out the cashes, deleted the corrupted configs (that helped for 1 map tbh but then it shit the bed again in the second map) ive done every single step of the trouble shooting guide and whats most frustrating is that every single trouble shooting page regarding this issue has dramatically different and conflicting information so i litterally feel as though i understand how this pc works less than i did when i started.

worst of all the Nvidia guys said... if you really want to prove to yourself that this is a GGG developmental issue... keep the nvidia control panels exactly in the configuration he said would best run POE2 and play another game... I did... and it ran flawlessly with the highest fidelity ive ever experienced in gaming. so i wash my hands of this matter.

but ive also tried the same settings with dynamic res on and vsync on and frames capped at 236 which is what the nvidia guy said was safest for my monitor and got the same results with little differences

at this point im just so overwhelmed and confused and honestly exhausted.

You have a really good system but if stuff like that happens in Poe 2 only, the best thing to do is wait for stuff to get updated/resolved over time - it's kinda out of your control. The 5k RTX series is a newer model and Poe 2 is a beta game.

A few things I would suggest in the meantime are updating your UEFI/BIOS if you haven't already, check temps when gaming for CPU/GPU, get latest Nvidia GPU drivers, and turn off overclocking but keep CPU/GPU boosts on.

Try going into the NVCP and setting the shader cache to 100GB or Unlimited.

It's in Manage 3D Settings, Global Settings tab, nearish the bottom of all the setting.

Also, next time you login give it some time to build up the cache.
