Chaos Inoculation

Hello,

I recently died in hardcore mode about 1 mins after getting the passive skill Chaos Inoculaton, how refreshing =).

The weird thing about this death, is that I died from one hit having around 8000 energy shield.

Have I totaly been missunderstanding the description and effect of the passive skill Chaos Inoculation?

If not, then how the hell is this possible :D?

Chaos Inoculation:
- Provides Immunity to Chaos Damage and bleeding (only damage type that ignores the energy shield)


Is there a exception in this case?

Is there another damage type or active skill that ignores the energy shield that I am not currently aware of, and made me die in this case?

I have no idea about this specific case ofc, but Ive seen hundreds of such reports mostly in PoE1 and can't remember there were ever any actual bug involved

most common case comes from mana flasks with "Removes 15% of Mana Recovered from Life when used", and there are some more mods on gear that make you lose life in other ways than taking damage

so please be careful, especially in HC, devs have no problem letting you commit suicide when you fail to read/understand modifiers you use
