Fast Travel - Skill Tree To spice up build diversity, it would be interesting to allow some form of “fast travel” across the passive skill tree—top to bottom or left to right—similar to the Atlas map. For example, moving more easily from the Witch area to the Duelist area would open up many new build possibilities: Templars accessing poison nodes, Elementalists reaching Marauder fire nodes, and so on. This could significantly expand build creativity without removing class identity. Map Counter & Re-run Incentives Maps can feel very repetitive. Adding a counter that tracks how many times each map has been completed could help, along with mechanics that reward re-running the same map. For instance, a “map spree” system could grant temporary bonuses such as increased rarity, quantity, or other buffs after consecutive runs of the same map, encouraging targeted farming while making repetition feel more rewarding. Death Penalty Alternatives - At higher levels or in red maps, losing experience can feel overly punishing. Providing alternative penalties could improve player experience, such as: - Temporarily disabling experience gain for a set time - Paying gold or currency to recover or avoid XP loss - Purchasing “experience omens” from vendors using gold These options would maintain risk while giving players more agency. Close Combat / Strike Skills Close combat builds are among the hardest to play due to the inherent disadvantage of needing to stay close to enemies. This often results in lower effective DPS compared to ranged, totem, or minion builds, while also exposing players to constant damage-over-time effects and melee attacks. Potential improvements: - More accessible strike range for daggers, claws, hammers, and axes - More “increased attack damage” modifiers instead of only “increased physical damage” - Additional “extra strike” nodes on the passive tree - Damage scaling based on enemy distance (similar to Sanctum mechanics), rewarding true melee play - These changes would help balance melee playstyles and make them feel more rewarding and competitive.
