Unexplained deaths

Okay, I get it now. You have a mechanic in the game that causes you to die inexplicably because you're doing too well in the game, so we don't feel too powerful. Please be so kind as to remove this mechanic and let us feel powerful. That's one of the reasons we play games like this, by the way.

In general, relative to other ARPGs past and present, POE1 has extreme monster damage output relative to player defenses in endgame, and the devs seem to take pride in this combined with a graphical/combat/model/environment design that provides zero visual clarity.
Personally I just aim my character in the general direction where I think threats are coming from, mash buttons, and see if they die before I do. Trying to identify what exactly is attacking you before it kills you is a death sentence in POE1 mapping. The offscreen projectile/spell barrages alone (hello fireball cannibals) are ridiculous.
