Ores not being tagged

I have ran numerous maps with ores and none of them are being tagged for my miners to mine. Checking the board states 0. I have more than enough gold, at least 1 miner in every type of ore, however, no matter how many or whichever ore types in the maps I clear, none of them are being tagged for mining even if I cleared it standing right beside the said ore. I have noticed that when I clear an ore challenge in the map, the miner does not appear like in settlers.
