Suggestion: Automated Async Trade Price Decline
|
Unsure what the best name for this feature is, but, I'm about to leave PoE1 for PoE2, and, I'd love it if I could set up an automated way for my Shop prices to lower over time. The currency for these items do me no good when I'm not playing, so, a feature overtime that just lowers them to "free" would be awesome. Then they can benefit others who are still playing (or even new to the PoE1 game and need items).
I currently don't see a way to price an item for "Free", but, Portal of Scroll / Wisdom is pretty close. So, effectively, what I'm asking for is a way to set an item (or whole tab at a time, or whole shop at a time) with a price decline strategy. So, I could just set a rule like, decrease the price by [x] Chaos every [y] hours, and then decrease from 1 Chaos to 1 Portal Scroll after [z] hours, etc... This isn't entirely fleshed out, and, it sounds as bad as some of the Outlook Email rules you can build (which are always somehow failing to grasp what you want, SMFH at Outlook), but, the spirit of the function I'm hoping for is what I would love to see. I want a way to basically after I stop playing to just lower the cost of the goods in my shop to zero over a short-ish period of time (or long-ish period of time depending on the player). As a nice add-on, players could use this feature during the league to lower prices automatically w/o having to do it manually. Last bumped on Dec 7, 2025, 7:20:52 AM

That will for sure NOT happen.
Asynch trade already caused a race to the bottom when it came to item value. Adding rules to automatically lower prices which everyone will be able to do, will result in everything literally becoming free. There was a time that limitations were put on trade to make sure content was not trivialized by easy access to gear and that time was not so long ago. |

I see your point, but, isn't this basically the same as saying that when people finish their league experience, they're no longer allowed to go on global and give all their stuff away for free?
Personally I think the "race to the bottom" for most gear is fine. The super expensive top-end things (over 95% of gear awesomeness, when rated on the standardized gear awesomeness scale (GAS)) are still gonna be very expensive. So, I don't think it ends the chase for high-end GAS gear. But, it will allow players still making character late in the league to get mid-end GAS gear pretty easily. That could make their experience much more fun. I'd bed they'd even stay around for the next league more often. TLDR: Players should have the freedom to do what they want with their loot. |
