Suggestion: An "Exalted Orb" that only works on maps

As we have gained other crafting options, I've noticed myself using the Exalted Orb less and less on gear
In modern POE, 95% of my Exalted Orbs go on maps. I would be willing to use them more, but Exalted Orbs are quite rare. Can you, GGG, consider making an orb that has a higher drop frequency that functions as an Exalted Orb but can only be used for maps? Or conversely, in POE2, exalted orbs are MUCH more common, so using them on maps feels really good. Maybe the drop rate for Exalts could be adjusted to a similar rate for POE1? you can just farm 8 mod maps and run those and never spend your exalts.

better a bench craft thats like 10c to slam a mod onto a map
the more chaos sink in this game the better POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences. While it isn't exactly common there is a beast craft for exalting maps and usually costs 10-15c.

That's literally the only downside in terms of investment t16.5 Maps have. If exalting them gets cheaper you can also just remove t17 from the game.

" I like this idea, but I think it would be safer to incorporate it into a challenge league mechanic so it's """safe""" for them to try it out once and then say "well, that was fun!" without the community positively erupting in outrage at something being taken away. If they just roll it into the base game from Day #1, they'd want to be very sure that it would be sticking around long-term. I do think that's the genius of their challenge leagues. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

what we need more, is tainted chisel from Beyond.
Beyond is currently doing pretty bad. Fusings are good, divine teardrops are extremely rare. Exalts and chaoses are meh, we don't really have a reason to craft on corrupted items. But a chisel usable on corrupted maps? Yeah, we need that one. There's a node that gives 12% extra explicit effect if your map has 20% quality. (3% per 5%Q). We don't use this on those random 8-mods printed with corruption scarab. |
