It's probably a troll post, but just in case you really don't know, rarity affects the tier of currency's that drops.

" not in POE 1... where this is posted in the forums. |
|
" Rarity in PoE 1 only affects currency in that if you have excessive IIR on your character, fewer currency may drop as more uniques drop. This is backed by the wiki at least. However, IIR does not turn a Transmute into an Alchemy or some such The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

They changed this in lake of kalandra where rarity worked on currency then borked pretty much all loot tables from league mechanic monsters. Then from what i heard they reverted the rarity/currency interaction stealthily based on community data.

Was tried in 3.19.
This is how you got screenshots of rares dropping 70 divs. Coupled with certain modifiers the community found that led to more currency drops (E.G. X-god-touched, particularly Solaris/Lunaris, if memory serves) resulted in players NOT killing the rare, and going to TFT for MF cullers that ran 1k IIR on slayers for the mega-cull in the hopes of getting the ginormous loot pinata. Generally, anytime you create big incentives for IIR, it basically invalidates any build that CAN'T stack it. |
