With a 6 person party, in addition to increasing the amount of gold dropped, when one person picks up the gold, the gold is not lost and the other people will still pick up that gold. This means that with a 6 person party, you can create 8 times or more gold than a 1 person party, while the cost of creating the map is reduced by 6 times. This is a huge difference while gold is also very important. It can be used for Kingsmarch or traded.
Also I have a small opinion that Poe 1 currently has too much content. When you add a content, skill, item try to randomly remove a similar thing to keep the game fresh for both experienced and long-time players instead of just newbies like me (this is just my personal opinion if I'm wrong please ignore) Last bumped on Nov 26, 2025, 12:07:29 PM

The gold scales with party bonus as well as rarity. Also, typically in 6 mans (established) the cost isn't really reduced based on the amount of players, more than about the level of investment the group is doing. Some groups do 1div per map, some 3. It all depends.
The reason there is gold still lingering when other people pick it up, is because gold is dropped for YOU specifically. So other people have their own, and so do you. This isn't really a balance issue imo. ★ Forum Threads ★

You're right, I was wrong about the cost issue, but we can't deny that unlike the number of items dropped on the map, the total amount of gold that a group of 6 people gets is many times higher than a group of 1 person.
For example, if I go alone with a group, I get 100,000 gold, while a group of 6 people each gets 125,000 gold. With a group with a rarity buff, the amount of gold is even higher. Of course, if there are 6 people, the items must be more than 1 person, otherwise it would be no fun. However, if that is the case, why are the number of items dropped on the map not the same? Wouldn't it be better if the items dropped were specifically for me? Like gold. |

There is a general iiq/iir multiplier for additional group members, read the tooltip, there is also information on the wiki about the scaling.
I think this just goes back to people feeling like there is less ground loot when in reality all of this perception change is from being used to the extra 25% when mercenaries was current. ★ Forum Threads ★
