Divination Card Harvest Gamble
|
I am a dedicated, long-term player of Path of Exile. I am writing to you today to express my serious concerns about one specific, high-impact mechanic: the Harvest (Sacred Grove) craft that "Duplicates a stack of Divination Cards."
While I understand the appeal of "jackpot" moments in an ARPG, I believe this single craft is fundamentally detrimental to the health of the trade league economy and, more importantly, to the very integrity of the game. 1. It Invalidates the Core Gameplay Loop Path of Exile's greatest strength is its "effort vs. reward" cycle. The "Duplicate Card" craft completely shatters this loop. A player can spend weeks farming dozens of high-tier maps to earn 7 or 8 "The Apothecary" cards. Another player, purely by the luck of finding this one Harvest craft, can buy that same stack, duplicate it, and instantly generate more wealth than the first player earned in weeks. This single action is so powerful that it devalues every other form of content. 2. It Fundamentally Distorts the High-End Economy This craft has a more centralized and damaging effect on the economy than any other mechanic. The supply—and therefore the price—of the most iconic chase items (like Mageblood and Headhunter) is no longer primarily determined by players farming the content that drops their respective cards. Instead, the entire market for these items is dictated by how often this single, rare Harvest craft appears, concentrating unimaginable wealth into the hands of a lucky minority. 3. Compounding the Issue: Reported Bugs and Exploits To make matters far worse, it is my understanding—and a widely discussed topic in the community—that this mechanic has been, or is currently, subject to bugs and exploits. It is widely reported that numerous players have allegedly used these exploits to duplicate high-value divination cards on an industrial, unintended scale. We are not talking about one lucky duplication, but about the mass generation of cards like "The Apothecary" (for Mageblood) and "House of Mirrors" (for Mirror of Kalandra). This alleged exploitation has resulted in a massive, unnatural accumulation of these top-tier items, flooding the market and completely destroying the efforts of all legitimate players. It compromises the fundamental integrity of the league and severely erodes player trust. When the economy is perceived to be "solved" by a bug, there is little incentive for anyone to play the game as intended. My Suggestion The impact of this one craft—both by design and, more critically, due to its reported exploits—is simply too extreme. Its continued existence is a threat to the game's economy and player trust. I strongly urge the GGG team to please consider immediately and completely removing the "Duplicate a stack of Divination Cards" craft from the game. Removing it would not "kill" Harvest, but it would restore value to the core ARPG loop. It would mean that the price of a Mageblood is once again tied to the effort of players who are actually playing the game, not by those who are exploiting a broken mechanic. Thank you for your time and urgent attention to this matter. I offer this feedback as a passionate player who wants to see the game's integrity restored. its an almost zero sum game - you still have to pay the harvest juice for the 50/50.
also you can still drop a raw mb and somehow avoid the game loop of farming all the individual cards. mb currently around 220divs so idk how is it printing... |
