Proposal for efficient and simple measures against RMT bot spam
|
Hello GGG,
I'm really fed up with the constant bot spam for RMT websites in global chat. So I've been thinking about a functional solution that should also be (relatively) easy to implement: The use of AI chatbots. Reason: The spambots have to keep their website easy for humans to understand so that they can find (and thus use) the RMT Websites. This can or should be taught to AI relatively easily. Especially with the absurdly high amount of training data generated by these bots every day. Let's assume you now have an AI that can recognise website ads with relativly high accuracy. What now? Check all chatters for this? NO, of course that's not necessary and would also increase the operating costs of the chatbot enormously. First of all, ALL current players should be whitelisted, which means they are not monitored by the chatbot (or at least accounts that are older than 1 year? Your decision to make). New accounts, on the other hand, are monitored by the chatbot. Before sending their message, it checks whether it violates the ToS or not. Sure, there will be a small delay for normal new players, but it's worth it 100 times over. 1. When RMT spam is detected: immediate timeout into GM control into ban. 2. In case of spamming to overload your system: immediate timeout into GM control into ban. Finally, you would need to consider when to whitelist these new accounts in order to keep the load on the AI chatbot as low as possible. Several factors should play a role here, such as account age, chat activity, account/game progression, etc. If you are interested, I would be happy to go into more detail here as well.
