Voodoo Doll bypassing CI + MoM

I’m playing a build using the new interaction that lets you run MoM with CI, taking 100% damage to Mana. The rare mod “Voodoo Doll” completely ignores this and deals direct Life damage as a reflect damage.

Just tested and there are more interactions like this that ignores Mind over matter and deals damage on life.
Mavens last phase where she creates 5 rotating beams Searing Exarch: I still dont know what, but something in that fight does the same |

Have you tried with 101% taken as instead of 100%? I counted 10 PC at first glance, try with a second +1 PC ring if you can.

I’ll try it when I run into that mod again, but honestly it shouldn’t work like that in the first place. Needing a +1 Power Charge just to avoid this feels like a huge opportunity cost and not an intended workaround.

Rounding issue/reason is best way I can explain it from the last time I ran a taken as build (that wasn't mana related). But way above my brain capacity to explain the reasoning. Just a hunch I'm assuming with someone else reporting similar issue and also exactly 100% taken as.
If it still happens with 101% though, then I'm more likely to believe something isn't working. But if it works with 101%, then whatever the fix would be has to affect the other flavors of taken as too and since it's been around for years, I'm assuming no change is coming. |

Thanks for the science.
Talking to others, someone suggested trying to actually have power charges instead of minimum charges. Very low chance to be the case, but only "variable" MoM in the build. If that checks out too, then best guess is the new helm doesn't really work like written. Which is unfortunate cause seemed to be hyped up. But I don't follow enough other people to know if anyone else is making it work without the same issue. |

The problem with trying to actually have power charges is that you become too vulnerable to monsters stealing it, im using Ralakesh to count as always having maximum power charges

Played a few more maps and there are many other mods that kill this build and I cannot explain what is going on
|
