Damage bypassing 100% of damage is taken from mana before life.

I am playing a build that uses the new Foulborn Mind of the Council to reach 100% of physical and lightning damage taken from mana before life. It also uses Font of Thunder, Divine Flesh and Bound By Destiny (10% of elemental taken as chaos) to reach 100% of fire and cold damage taken as either lightning or chaos. This allow the build to make use of Chaos Inoculation while also using Divine Flesh.
(Character name: DivineInoculation) The bug that I am encountering is that I will die without running out of mana. It seems (to me) to only happen when the source have damage gained as extra, such as a magic pack of monsters that have extra fire damage. Exploding barrels will also instantly kill the character. I was really looking forward to playing this new build I made, but I guess I'll just take a break from the game until this is fixed. Last bumped on Nov 15, 2025, 7:58:49 AM

" Due to rounding, you need 101%, not 100%. I wish I could explain further, but someone better at words would have to explain why. One of those things I gave up trying to remember and had to be reminded of when I asked someone else of your issue. |

" I was really hoping it wasn't caused by floating-point imprecision. Probably same reason why you needed to reach 101% of damage taken as something else to not get affected by ailments caused by the original damage type, if I remember correctly. |

" My theory was wrong, I suggested it to someone else and they tried 11 power charges, and still died with es/mana left. So the only theories I have left are either you need 10-11 active power charges (not minimum) due to some weird issue with the boots/amulet.
