client window fails to "capture" inputs and focus when clicking between windows

windows 11. steam client. patch (3.27.0c) after the latest patch (3.27.0c) clicking between windows does not transfer all inputs from one window to another. while running POE in windowed mode, and another game (RuneScape). clicking between the windows does not transfer all controls to the clicked window. when clicking to move, (left click force walk) it appears the client is registering 2 or 3 clicks on the ctrl key, as the skill bar flashes quickly, on each click, holding lmb does not make character move, only single clicks. while affected using the "F-keys" sends the input to the runescape client instead of the poe client. after a while or casting a few skills, seemingly random... the controls transfer over and the poe client works as expected, but then switching away from it again becomes an issue. closing poe fixes the issue for all other applications. UPDATE: 14-11-2025 15:37
Clicking another application, browser or the desktop in-between the runescape and poe window also seems to fix the issue, it's only when clicking directly form rs window to poe window, or the inverse that the control inputs "sticks" to the other application. |

This is an interesting post to come across as I am also having issues with RuneScape and POE running at the same time and cannot find a fix for it.
Right now I cannot switch between the 2 and do anything on runescape other can click to move. I cannot use WASD as POE overtakes those actions. Before that it was not allowing me to use ESC button or continue moving or Log In / Settings in POE. I have updated my drivers and switch off GPU/HD on OSRS and still have the issue. |

Coming back to this, in case you haven't found an answer, Disable Discord overlays. Spent hours trying to find a fix for this and finally remembered the overlays are janky when playing multiple games at once. Fixed the issue.
