Softlocked Eagon "The operation could not be completed" (and fix)

Bug:
Attempting to open the memory chain map from Eagon's map device results in The operation could not be completed output in chat and nothing happening.
Scarabs/no scarabs, normal/magic/rare map, different atlas trees don't fix the issue.

Fix:
Unselecting Eater/Exarch/Maven influence from the device and running the map without any influence allows the map to be opened and chain progressed.

Cause:
I'm almost sure how to reproduce the bug and what is the cause.

The three initial "introductory" memory chains that lead to the completion of Threads of the Originator quest (petals on atlas menu) don't allow for any influence to be chosen on Eagon's map device.
This is enforced through influence buttons being unclickable.

I have started the last "introductory" memory chain that leads to the Incarnation of Dread boss fight.
I have however bought Echo of Reverence boss key from the market and killed the boss that way.
This has fast-tracked my completion of the quest chain, scattering petals on my atlas after finishing the final event with Zana.
Influence buttons on Eagon's map device also became clickable now, auto turning the selection "on" by mirroring the choice from regular map device.

However, the active memory chain is still "introductory" and enforces the "no influence" rule.
The UI on Eagon's map device has now diverged from the state of memory chain underneath, auto-selecting invalid configuration.
