Spectre from itemized corpse didnt return on the ground after taking off the gem

During a brief fight with uber sirus i wanted to resummon a spectre i had lost. when I took out the spectre gem carrying my perfect forest tiger it didnt drop on the ground to be revived once more.
This happened on the broken roof area where you enter the zone near the broken bits on the right.

From the announcement spectres were still meant to return to corpses when unsummoned so either the ground swallowed it or it was a bug, regardless its 11divs just lost.

After referencing a thread on reddit it seems this may have happened because corpse spectres dont drop in combat zones such as the sirus area i was in.

This still seems unintentional to how they were designed.
