Elemental reflect mod reflects Gain % of elemental damage as extra chaos damage
|
Hi. I am playing spark inquisitor with Incandescent heart & Atziri's promise equipped. When i tried to complete Maven's invitation with 18% ele reflect i equipped Sybil's lament ring in left slot and switched pantheon to soul of Yugul for total of 130% reduced ele reflected damage, that supposed to have ele reflect immunity.
Instead, i instantly died. So, i unequipped Incandescent heart & Atziri's promise, then tried again, and didnt take reflected damage at all, as it supposed to work. Seems that ele reflect mod includes extra chaos gain mod, what is wrong, cause chaos damage is not elemental damage. Bug Report ID: #4 206 992 236 Last bumped on Nov 9, 2025, 6:45:31 AM

You're taking reflected chaos damage, this is normal behavior. There are no sources of chaos damage reduction yet.
Same applies for reducing only physical damage, but having sources of taken as elemental/chaos. |

How it can be normal behaviour, if game have only 2 type of reflect - phys ang elemental. Chaos damage is neither of it. So it cannot be reflected.

Are you sure that you placed Sybil's into the correct ring slot?

I do not and will not use TFT. Gaming Granny :D 🐢🐢🐢🪲🪲🪲 @xjjanie.bsky.social |

Yes, i re-checked it couple times before and after encounter. It was in left ring slot.

" Damage Reflection from Hits (and it's always from Hits) itself counts as Hits.

Thanks for information. Am i correct - before reflect immunity game distributes damage - 75% taken as ele, 25% as chaos, then 75% is mitigated by immunity, but 25% hit chaos damage taken kills me? And burden of truth here no matter, cause 25% hit chaos damage kills me anyway (last league i encounter same issue with Mageblood)

Yeah.
The game doesn't regard you as being immune; if it did, it might just decide not to bother with applying the damage to save on resources - there are precedents of that happening. The game regards you as having really, really good mitigation. But sometimes Shit Happens™ - maybe you have a Map mod creating Shocking Ground which you're presently standing in and the Increased Damage Taken is countering some of the Reduced Damage Taken - causing the latter to dip below 100%. Maybe you've an Incandescent Heart equipped that converts some of the damage into a different type. Maybe it's Maybelline. The game will always perform damage conversion prior to damage mitigation - it's the only way the game knows for sure which mitigation to apply against each point of damage. Thanks again for help. |

You're very welcome, friendo.
It's my first time seeing this, so I had to spend a bit of time interrogating the wiki to figure it out myself. :) GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.
