Esh of the storm - Hit ignore Enemy lightning resistance

Hi,

Something seems broken...
Skill used is lightning tendrils of eccentricity.
With Esh of the storm allocated and 2 Synaptics rings, max shock is around 30%.

If I replace one ring with another non Synaptics, I can reach 65% shock effect, and DPS seems better.
I do not inflict exposure.

You have Exposure on your gloves + Mastermind of Discord. (Or have you already changed your gear?)
Exposure on gloves was removed when I experienced the strage behaviour.
I've spec'd out the breach ascendency and put exposure back on gloves.
I am wondering about its interactions as well. It seems as if it treats enemy lightning resist as 0, which would mean conductivity would be a waste, but exposure should continue to work.

I haven't seen my shock decrease from it, but there seems to be only a minor dps increase, which most likely aligns with no exposure, but allows curse reduction below 0.

This is expected. When your hits ignore enemy resistance, it is literally skipping the resistance calculation step in damage calculation. This means that if you use curse/exposure to get enemy resistance to be negative, this effect actually hurts your damage. See: Inquisitor's Inevitable Judgement node.

The situations where this mod shines are in mapping where monsters could get endurance charge or extra elemental resistances from map mods.

I was unfortunately thinking this is the case. With as much investment into reducing/lowering their resistances, it seems useless to have, compared to other places to boost damage.
