Genesis Tree breaks upon HC death with body part in inventory

I died in HC at maps with maybe 6 body part progression on the Genesis Tree. At death, I had a body part in my inventory. I used that character in normal league and clicked on the Genesis Tree NPC, who consumed the body part still in my inventory and seemed to upgrade the tree like normal. Since then, any attempt to use any wombgift in any section of the tree does nothing. It lets me click to select a wombgift and click consume graftblood, but then exits the menu and nothing happens with the tree and no graftblood is consumed. I've tried finding additional body parts in the normal league, and those are consumed and give new points for the tree, but the use of wombgifts is still broken. Next, I'm going to try rolling another character in normal league and getting to the Genesis Tree with that character to check if it's character broken or account broken.
