Bought item from Faustus without inventory space, now currency and item are gone

I went to hideout of another player and bought an item from their Faustus tab. When i had the item on my cursor i noticed that i do not have enough inventory space, but i could not put the item anywhere. When i clicked on the players faustus tab again the item was gone. The currency i payed is also gone now.

If it helps to figure out what happened. It was a Paradoxica that i tried to buy for 2 divine.

When trying it with other items i could not actually get rid of the item on my cursor. Maybe another player bought it while i had it on the cursor? But then why is my currency gone?
