Possible to not get credit for killing Kitava (multiplayer)

Played multiplayer with friend.
Killed Kitava with friend. Left room (not instance) to do tujen after Kitava was dead. Did not get credit for killing Kitava. Quest state in instance says "epilogue is open". Quest state in town says "KILL KITAVA".
