Reflected Jewellery does not apply negative Energy Shield

I have a Ring that gives me negative Energy Shield which doesn't apply.

The only sources of Energy Shield I have are on my Gloves and Boots, no added ES anywhere.

If I equip +ES anywhere or activate Discipline the ring works properly.
