no sound in poe since 3.27

sound in PoE worked fine last night.
installed new nvidia video drivers this morning per GGG saying it was outdated. HAD audio before the queue started.

no audio from poe since starting 3.27 league.

discord works. youtube works. every other game works. its just poe doesnt know what a default device is, and that somehow it lost how to understand what a sound driver is.
