3.27 mac m1max | launcher only started once and now crashes
|
hey,
i just updated the client to 3.27, after the download had finished, i could start the game exactly once, reached the loginscreen, decided to do a last reboot since the queue was not up yet. Now the client/launcher crashes on startup (after the launcher reaching 'done' state). looking through the dump sent to apple it seems a thread crashed which led to an abort() (i won't post the dump here since it does not look anonymous. if you want it please reach out.) macOS 15.3.1, m1max, 32GB Last edited by _piekz#3750 on Oct 31, 2025, 2:47:30 PM Last bumped on Nov 1, 2025, 10:00:32 AM

Same here, M3 Max
--- ✅ Edit: Managed to open it via terminal. I forgot what issues I had last week where the solution was the same, but I figured I'd try, and it worked this time too (at least once). 1. Open the "Terminal" app. 2. Change directory (cd) into PoE's folder. Type the following and press enter: cd ~/Library/Application\ Support/Path\ of\ Exile 3. Open PoE, with -n flag ("Open a new instance of the application(s) even if one is already running.") - no idea if it's needed or why it helps. Run the following: open -n ./Path\ of\ Exile.app Last edited by DeKondra#0016 on Oct 31, 2025, 3:58:59 PM

GGG announced full native support for Apple silicon in 3.27. This doesnt look like full native support

DeKondra#0016 good find. Had the same issue. Terminal launch worked great.

The "open with -n" thing worked for me last night but not this morning.
I was able to get it working by deleting the Path Of Exile.app in the Application support (as well as "Path Of Exile.app!"[sic], which I think was the game trying to install a /Applications package in my Application support folder, and then running it from Applications like normal. The updater was a little weird but fine when I just clicked through. If this was working last night but not today, try: - Deleting just ~/Library/Application Support/Path Of Exile/Path Of Exile.app ~/Library/Application Support/Path Of Exile/Path Of Exile.app! and then running from the Applications shortcut (like normal) works. M1 MacBook Pro GGG, if you're hiring QA or tech support, please reach out! Could be a win for both of us. |
