End the Remove-Only Tab Grind
| End the Remove-Only Tab Grind With the new League starting tomorrow, I know the community — myself included — is buzzing with excitement. I can’t wait to dive in. Obviously, I don’t expect this request to be addressed overnight, but I hope it finds its way onto Grinding Gear Games’ roadmap. It seems like a simple addition that could save countless players a lot of time at the end of future leagues. I also know this topic has been brought up before, and I’m sure many of you feel the same way — although I’m sure someone will have a problem with it for some reason. Consider this another voice among the sea of voices asking Grinding Gear Games to give us a proper quality-of-life feature for Remove-Only stash tabs. TL;DR
The Problem After each league ends, items and tabs migrate to Standard as “Remove-Only.” Over time, these tabs pile up. For long-time players, it becomes an endless cleanup chore with zero gameplay value — hours wasted dragging, vendoring, and destroying items one by one just to stay organized. It’s tedious and unnecessary. GGG did give us the ability to hide Remove-Only tabs, and that’s appreciated — but it’s just sweeping the problem under the rug. I don’t lift the rug and sweep all the dirt under it at home; why would I want to do that in a game I spend so much time in? Beyond what players want, it’s hard to imagine GGG enjoys hosting terabytes of forgotten data — tabs full of abandoned items hidden away forever. It benefits nobody and only clutters the game’s ecosystem. The Request Please give us the option to: 1. Vendor everything in the tab (as if selling all items at once), or 2. Delete the entire tab and everything in it. Both actions could require clear, multi-step confirmations, for example: " Why This Makes Sense – It’s perfectly consistent with GGG’s long-standing philosophy of player responsibility. – GGG already has a clear “no restoration” policy for Hardcore deaths — even when it’s not the player’s fault. The same principle applies here: clear risk, clear consent, clear consequence. – It improves the Standard experience without affecting gameplay, balance, or the in-game economy. – It saves countless hours of busywork and lets players focus on what actually matters — playing the game. Addressing the Common Objection Some argue this would lead to support requests from players who deleted items accidentally. But avoiding a feature because a few people might misuse it only shifts the burden onto everyone else. The solution is a simple, hardline policy — the same kind GGG already uses elsewhere: " An overwhelming majority of the community would stand behind that. It’s fair, clear, and respects players’ agency. In Closing This is a small but meaningful change that would save players enormous time while bringing stash management in line with GGG’s own design philosophy. The game is in a fantastic place — now’s the perfect time to smooth out long-standing quality-of-life frustrations like this. I’ll be spending my time in the new League, not in Standard — but I know this change would make returning to Standard at the end of a league far less painful for all of us. Thanks for reading, and thanks for continuing to build one of the best ARPGs ever made. — Vel Last bumped on Oct 30, 2025, 6:33:38 PM | |
| Don't hide them then, start cleaning them up. How hard is it to dedicate 2~3 hours per week to organize your stuff? Pff, who even plays Standard? | |
| Or, even better, don't hoard that much. relax - it's just ones and zeros! | |
| +1. As others have said, sure you can manage it yourself manually, if you are that OCD. But that's why it is a QoL change, because it makes things easier. To clarify: -This is only a request for remove-only tabs. Not suggesting we give players the ability to easily dump their active dump tabs. -Also, please fix the empty remove-only tabs remaining persistent. When the tab is empty, it should disappear. “Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.” Last edited by Piousqd#0073 on Oct 30, 2025, 2:54:04 PM | |
| It takes less than a minute to vendor a tab. So spending maybe 15 minutes twice a year isn't that bad. Not hoarding everything would help a lot, and be a good idea in general. I often find myself saving a bunch of stuff that realistically will probably never use, and periodically clear stuff to simplify stash anyway. Do this before league end to reduce stash tabs moving to standard. | |
| " Tell us you are tab poor without telling us you are tab poor. Many players accumulate dozens of tabs and quad tabs over the years of playing POE. Vendoring all of your tabs can take hours. “Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.” Last edited by Piousqd#0073 on Oct 30, 2025, 4:55:08 PM | |
| " As someone with 40+ premium regular and 40+ quad, I do not support this change. It's really this simple, if you care enough and play standard, merge the items, if you don't care, let them rot. It's not hurting anyone. Been this way for ages, probably never going to change. Edit: Additionally, those who are efficient, it does take about a minute to vendor a tab, if you are someone who has enough tabs and sorts them properly, bind your click to scroll, place Lilly next to your stash, yeah this isn't rocket science. It seems like the trend with this is people who just want to fix things that aren't broken, I don't know why. ★ Forum Threads ★ ★ Unlock Sandwraith Kill Tracker #3461595 ★ ★ Deli Music Off #3450767 ★ ★ Bestiary QOL #3380585 (HAS BEEN ADDRESSED!!!! | i would love to have an option to MERGE remove only tabs that correspond to each other. Currency to currency Fragments with fragments Essences with essences Etc Why do I have 13 different currency tabs in there? The only limitation would be 5k stack limit. | |
