Consecrated Ground Conversion Priority Question

After seeing the new bloodline ascendancies, I got thinking. How does the Bittery Heresy node from the Lycia Ascendancy interact with the Worship the Blightheart Anoint? Does one get priority over the other? Do you get a combination of Fungal Ground and Profane Ground? The only way I can think of to test this is with the Broken Faith shield, but that’s from a shield and not an Ascendancy point.

Does anyone know how ground effect priorities or priorities work in general?

So I tested it with the Broken Faith Shield and Anointed Worship the Blightheart using purifying flame. When I had the shield equipped it only created profane ground. When I unequipped the shield, I only created fungal ground. I wonder if items have priorities over anoints or the passive tree, or if profane ground just has priority over fungal ground.
Interesting. I did not know that negative takes priority over positive. I find it hard to believe that I am the first person to question how this interaction works.
Even when the league starts I don’t know if using Bitter Heresy will answer the question, there are too many variables and not enough controls to determine how the code prioritizes this interaction.

Do the devs ever make comments on how priority/the code works directly?

By definition and game mechanics logic, Bitter Heresy's effects (all of them) should trigger SIMULTANEOUSLY with Worship the Blightheart anoint. Additionally, the Broken faith shield's effect is weaker than the bloodline's effect, therefore the bloodline should always overlap the shield. Same goes for the Rational doctrine's effect(s).
There should be nothing that stops the anoint to work ALONG with the profane ground mechanic unless it's bugged.
I really want to receive an answer from a GGG representative on this since it's going to be very confusing if I wanna build around these effects and be disappointed later.

+1, I was questioning that yesterday as well.

"Instead of" does sound like it would create a mutual exclusion: conc ground -> either [A or B]; Fungal or Profane and not both.

I just tested it with Lycia's bloodline (Bitter Heresy), Rational Doctrine (str/int balanced) and the Worship the Blightheart anoint.

1. With the jewel and anoint, no bloodline: you have fungal ground around you and profane ground when you crit
2. With the jewel, anoint and bloodline: you only have profane ground around you and it lingers.

The bloodline seems to have no positive interaction with anything else, you either take it on its own or you don't.

a. With Rational Doctrine, you're trading the consecrated effect for a more powerful Profane Ground that is no longer situational. But in all likelihood, you'd have been using it on a crit char anyway so it was always up.
b. With the Worship the Blightheart anoint, you will never have Fungal Ground.

My hope was that with a balanced character using Rational Doctrine, you would get Fungal Ground via anoint and giga Profane Ground via Bitter Hersey. That doesn't seem to be the case today.
