Suggestion - T17 Modifiers change
| Hello, I just watched the Interview with Ziggy and one topic was T17 modifiers. Just as a rough train of thought. What if the modifiers are not aimed at damage/killing the player. But instead T17 modifiers could give you extra rewards and add hazards to the map. Every time you get hit by one of the hazards, the amount of extra rewards granted by the t17 modifier is reduced. Keypoints, modifiers add: - Extra rewards, independent of regular drops - Spawn non- or low dmaging Hazards - Getting hit by a Hazards inflicts a debuff - These debuffs reduce only the extra rewards you get - These debuffs could be used to change boss mechanics or other things - Map difficulty stays the same, uneffected by t17 modifiers Example: You roll a Sawblade modifier. This grants you "Boss drops 4 additional Unique items" or maybe "X% increased chance for monsters to drop Divine Orbs" or something similar. In addition, this mod spawns sawblades that activate (start spinning) after a short time on the ground. They do no or almost no damage. But every time you get hit you get a debuff reducing the effect of the granted mod by a percentage. Lets say each debuff stack reduces the effect by 10%. After getting hit 10 times, this mod offers no benefit anymore. This way you would be very flexible in tuning the modifiers. Players could stack them for potential huge rewards, but then the entire floor would be full of hazards, getting hit all the time and the extra rewards would be diminished very quickly. BUT the base drops are not effected. Neither is the base damage/difficulty. On the other hand you have the possibility to get extra rewards. If you want the Fragments from bosses to be harder to get, you could use the debuff stacks to scale the boss or something of that category. Maybe only effecting the boss fight. Maybe every X amount of debuff stacks adds another mechanic to the boss. Like there could be 10 gates in the arena and every 10 debuff stacks open another Gate spawning additional enemies, hazards, ... something, during the boss fight. Or maybe the debuffs could effect the Fragment drop chance/rate/quantity. Just a rough thought. kr Last bumped on Oct 25, 2025, 4:47:08 AM | |
