Mercs
|
I prefer my own personal challenges I create for myself within a game, but the future of the mercenary is an Ok addition to the game. I would prefer them not to comeback as strong as they were and necessitate there use in every build or situation and overtake every other League mechanic. I prefer additions to the game that allow a freedom to choose whether or not to engage with a mechanic. I hope when GGG revisits mercenaries they have a similar game philosophy.

Don't worry, when mercs go core they will be nerfed from orbit so hard that they will die from everything and contribute nothing except depleting your gold.
Degens/sweats win again. |

Hopefully they're just gonna be optional like all other league mechanics. This game is all about player agency after all, forcing everyone to use mercs would just not be fun at all lol

" Indeed, this game is all about player agency, and mercs only reinforce that, giving players even more control over build customization and optimization. Windows 11, 9950X3D, RTX 4090, 96GB DDR5, 14,100 MB/s SSD, 15,360x2160p @240Hz Ultra 4K Gaming & Workspace Powerhouse

" Nope, if they're OP then everyone is forced to use them. Which is anti-fun game design and nobody would enjoy that. The backlash from the majority of players if that happens will speak for itself though. I don't need to tell you how many people want mercs deleted. |

" in this aspect i agree but then its the same as auras using determination aura can immediately give you roughly 50% more armour, which can be huge. if you're playing physical you could get hatred/hoa combo to get extra elemental damage scaled from your phys damage or just slap pride. i've always found auras too good that we cant afford not to use them. but i dont really see anyone complaining about them nowadays. and i really think that the backlash would be that strong. lets look at it from the player base perspective: strong players = already strong. can do all content without mercs. why are they complaining? also, since they're strong, they could delete all content that would pose a threat to the mercs before they get in any danger to begin with. also, since theyre strong, they can farm hyper juiced maps. reviving the mercs wouldnt hurt their gold economy. weaker players = are weak, may struggle to do content without mercs. now they have a new avenue that is horizontal growth, giving them a new avenue to focus on so that they can challenge tougher content. mercs may die and can be annoying to revive but at least theyre happy that they have this additional help. so WHO IS THIS MAJORITY that you are talking about? back when heist was a thing all of my friends enjoyed having heist companions helping them out. i personally tend allocate my atlas tree to get huck and einhar to help me out during mapping. its simply more fun to be aided by npcs rather than be all alone. and it also helps bridge the gap between single player vs multiplayer. speaking of which. i m pretty supportive of npc/companions being disabled in multiplayer. i m of the opinion that any companions you have should consume a party slot. monster hunter does this pretty well. each player can have 2 companions while playing solo. in a 2 person party, both can have 1 companion each. in a 3 person or more party, no companions are allowed. Mercs should just exist for taunting you if you fail. Perfect addition without power creep. make it happen GGG!

" bad players don't understand how mercs are bad for the game |

Understood, I'm glad that we have an ensemble of "good players" (play all day) who ensure that everything is nerfed by 1000x.
And I thought that Blizzard had the monopoly on being the fun police. |

" Lots of things that are currently OP, you refuse to engage with. Proof that OP does not equal forced. “Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.”
