QOL SUGGESTIONS
|
Hi GGG and GGG Community,
If you somehow got a chance to read this, here are few suggestions that I think will be a good QOL specially for new players. 1. Skill gems have recommended support gem in POE2. (amazing specially for new players) Suggestion: I think POE1 can also do this to make it more accessible. It can be as simple as listing the names of recommended support skills in the skill gem information. 2. Skill tree seems to be complex because you can see all the nodes from the start. Few leagues back, I personally tried forcing to try to reach far nodes because I like what that node do. I ended up having a hard time levelling up and navigating the game. Suggestion: An on/off toggle to the skill tree to hide nodes that you cannot put skill points because your current level cannot reach it. Putting you to an experience of slowly uncovering the skill tree as you level up. If you somehow saw a juicy node and you need to respec, unlimited free respec until certain level (for low levels) 3. Skill gem related nodes. Suggestion: Additional button on skill gems to check related nodes on that gem. Since there's already tags on the skill gem (ex. Attack, Projectile). Make a button to open skill tree with (Attack OR Projectile) in the search bar. That would immediately highlight the nodes related. Cheers! Last bumped on Oct 9, 2025, 10:12:11 AM

" This is fine, would probably be helpful for new players. In POE2 they need a lot of improvement to the skill information that is viewable, like requirements. There is still work to be done. Ideally in POE1, you would be able to see when skills work together and when they don't, but it's probably complex on the foundation they have built that hasn't had it. What you are suggesting might be a good in-between step, so long as it didn't lead to bad information. I think currently POE1 is quite far from having this improved. I think it is good they are trying to do it in POE2, but I think they also still need improvement there, and should focus on getting it right there first, as it would be a big update for POE1. " So long as it is a toggle. I don't think it is needed, but if you or others think it would be helpful, I think it is fine as an option. They sometimes run crangled events where your nodes are changed an you can't see far ahead, which is a pretty interesting idea, but they need them to be viewable generally. I think you will find that if you can't see where you can potentially go, you will end up needing a lot of respeccing at some point down the track. I understand also that sometimes less information can be helpful when there is too much happening all at once, while learning the mechanics. " In general this is fine and is not a bad idea. In practice it is a bit more complex. I would say what you are suggesting is a bit like having a premade build. It would be a bit like the difference between manual and automatic driving. I can see why some people would like that. It is a somewhat complex game though, most things have the ability to interact in some way and there are many aspects to consider. What you are suggesting sort of exists, in a much more clunky 3rd party way. You can do this with POB or even with a few more steps looking at meta data. Can understand you are suggesting something much more user friendly. I've heard people suggest that you could perhaps follow a build that someone has created, and have it interact with your tree, so you can follow paths and suggestions of that creation, without needing to leave the game.
