fps drops

I have a question regarding the game's performance. I'm having massive problems with the framerate, which is fine when I play alone (70+ fps), but as soon as I play with a friend or two in co-op, the framerate gradually drops, dropping below 20 fps. I've already tried various graphics settings, but none have improved. 2180p, 1140p, 1080p, FSR on/off, lower details, DX12 or Vulkan, and so on. Nothing helps. My friends have the same problem.

AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT
Radeon 6700X
32.0 GB RAM
Game installed on M2 SSD
Win 11 64
All drivers up to date

Do you have any advice or information on how I can improve the problem? I know it's not a comparison, but with your competitor's product, Diablo 4, I get well over 150 fps at full details.

Is this when using a controller or a keyboard and mouse?

If the former, do you have vibrations enabled?

That's known to introduce an absurd amount of stutter. There is something very, very wrong with the game's vibrations setting and it should be disabled if currently in use.

I'd also be curious what kind of content you're doing when playing in groups. While it's true e.g. Blighted Maps have some... interesting... performance at times, to be fair to GGG - Blizzard didn't optimise their equivalent better; Diablo IV just doesn't have anything quite like that.

While the two Paths of Exile could be better optimised for sure, sometimes you just have to accept that no matter how performant the game might be, certain types of content are asking for quite a lot on a per-frame basis. Only future hardware is likely to tame those.

Is it possible to ask for a screenshot of the game's performance metrics while experiencing significant performance degradation? It would help us to begin the process of elimination.
