Can't use character anymore

So I just got to maps, asked my friend to join me so I can catch up to him as he got to end game a few days earlier and the moment he access the map he kept getting logged off, I walked back to the beginning of the map to wait for him but the moment I walk to where he was it logged out too, now we can't use those characters after that but we can log into our other characters. We played act 1-4 and this never happened before.

both of our characters say we are on "Willow" map, as soon as we click log in for the characters we get "an unexpected disconnection occurred"

I have another character for the current league that I can log into without issues and the same goes from previous league characters.

Solved it by clicking ctrl+click+play on the log in screen, I didn't know this worked for logging in as well.
