They have no way of knowing whether the physical servers have a problem; whether there's congestion at the data centre; whether a backbone provider is experiencing issues - so on and so forth. They might not be able to reproduce the issue you're experiencing when connecting from New Zealand. If they're to reliably get more information, it can only come from those affected.
