Display Settings
Hello everyone.
i kindly wanted to ask someone that is very exp with the display settings or having some tips and tricks to help me make my gameplay exp better because right now im struggling with my laptop to even do the basics. i have an i5 12500H 12core 4.5ghz (Turbo on) and RTX3050 4gb and 16gb ram and ssd nvm2 i bought this thing 2 years ago for around 1k eu and i fail to understand the logic behind it that im having big problems to play the game even in the lowest possible settings. other games like dota 2 or diablo and world of warcraft are just flawless in this laptop, i even play some crysis 3 and Witcher without problems. in alvas farm my fps drop down to 10 and the stuttering is huge. using Nvidia DLSS option with Ultra performance with max fps set to 45 and 20fps culling. all settings on lower or disabled with trillinear filter and DX12 render. i do know RTX3050 is mid range but it cant be so awfull for poe. is there some trick or some tweak i could possibly do to have steady fps in all scenarios? My temps are usually at 85c max after multiple alvas maps and there is no throttling i think. Someone with similar setup or any helpful information i will highly appreciate it!!! Thanks in advance. No idea then. I have similar specs to you 3050Ti, 12650H, 16GB and SSD Althou I don't run these giga juicy maps. My FPS sits at 144 and dips to 40-60 when "juiced" (multiple harbingers/breaches on screen etc.), but still it isnt the giga juice. I don't use any upscaling.
For myself I did these: Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings: Performance management to prefer maximum performance <other setting, no idea what name> Quality -> High performance Game mode turned ON in Windows settings Start Menu > Settings > System > Display > Display settings > browse > add PoEs .exe apps > click on them > options > select high performance RTX3050 Battery settings > maximum CPU performance to 99% when connected and on battery (I use my laptop as PC, so it's always connected). PoE folder, PoE shader cache folder, Nvidia shader cache folder in antivirus exception (windows defender for me). Right click PoEs .exe files > properties > compatibility > ✓ disable full screen optimization (I play windowed 1960x600). Then I suggest taking screenshots of your PoE settings in game (keybinds) and deleting production_Config.ini file to restore PoE to default settings. After deleting the file ^ restart laptop > launch PoE > add the same keybinds as from screenshots > quit PoE > disable sound as from my older post. After that you are free to change any other graphic settings (shadows etc. always should go as low as possible). Note: If you accidentally change audio setting in game, it will no longer be set to false, u will need to edit the .ini file again. Edit 1: Task Manager > PoE1 > priority: High (NEVER USE REALTIME) Last edited by Tortorion#2713 on Sep 8, 2025, 2:50:09 PM

" Unless the game client is unstable (i.e. crashing to the Desktop), it might make more sense to rename the current production_Config, then later copy and paste that one's [ACTION_KEYS] section into the new file overwriting the default ones. Shouldn't need to restart the laptop, either. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

" Can i ask what is your prefered render option? Billinear or Nvidia DLSS ? im also concerned about the temps on my laptop. i cant seem to find a sweet spot culling is disabled or enabled? dynamic resolution i set to 20fps. im trying all the settings you mentioned above and still experementing to see what works best, fps still go 10dps on alvas strat. |

" I'm playing on Billinear, Culling enabled, dynamic resolution 60fps, DX12. I would expect my laptop have simililar FPS to yours if I were to run your maps (can't test, PoE1 unistalled), since many beetter PC settings do struggle with PoE. |

I think the biggest things most people seem to miss is the resolutions (or targeted ones) and the frame rates, if you are trying to get 1440 at more than 60 fps it's not likely going to work well.
The next thing is your network mode (trust me...it is relevant) IF you are on the default/lockstep and spikes or packet loss results in game stutter (for most people you wouldn't be able to tell the difference with FPS and the stutter)
Spoiler
![]() That is on a ryzen 7 3700x, 3070ti and 16 GB of ram, i manage to maintain a steady FPS (it dose not feel rough/jumpy outside of latency spikes) the FPS may drop on heavy content (juice your maps etc) but not enough to feel bad There may also be an issue with wireless stuff seen on a JayzTwoCents recently posted vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWTZkB9rVU0 Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi
