Stuck at the Black Cathedral boss zone and cannot leave

I died after killing the boss, clicked the "take the finger" as the reward before re spawning at the checkpoint.

after re-spawning there is nothing left on the map, the boss is still dead. cannot leave or portal out due to it being a boss zone. respawn at checkpoint via menu does not solve the issue.

I am currently stuck with no way to leave the zone. please help
