Cannot socket blink, and another socketed + enabled aura skill isn't working

I seem to have a glitched character in terms of socketed skills.

I have two open skill sockets and well beyond the minimal requirements, but I cannot socket either of two Blink skill gems I have in my inventory. I get the "bong" blocked error sound when trying to do so.

Additionally, I have Blasphemy socketed with Temporal Chains, and it shows the graphic indicating that it's active, but it does nothing to any enemy in the game. Monsters do not show curses over their heads and they run / attack at full speed even when I'm face to face with them.

Additionally, blasphemy + temporal chains are only broken in maps.

When I go into a campaign area, monsters are affected by the equipped / enabled blasphemy + temporal chains aura.

edit: another player in chat answered this (you have to upgrade curse gems).

I even tried unequipping ALL other gems, and I still cannot equip ANY blink gem (tried a level 10, a level 12, and a level 14 one, I'm level 71 so level 14 is current)
